Redeemer’s University continues to champion inclusive education through deliberate actions that enhance accessible facilities, expand disability support services, and ensure that all students — regardless of physical or cognitive challenges — can reach their full potential.

A notable example of this commitment was the generous donation of a modern motorized wheelchair to Ayobami Balogun, a student of the university, by the 1st Gospel 25:35 Initiative, an NGO founded by the institution’s bursar, Mrs. Mofoluso Olutayo-David. The gesture highlighted Redeemer’s University’s strong community partnerships and its enduring support for students with disabilities. The Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to the NGO and reaffirmed the university’s pledge to continually expand its disability access schemes and welfare provisions.

Beyond physical accessibility, the university is guided by a reasonable accommodation policy that ensures students with disabilities receive adequate academic and social support, including the provision of assistive devices and infrastructural adjustments where needed. These initiatives are backed by dedicated funding and institutional commitment, reflecting a strategy that moves beyond compliance to compassion.

Complementing these efforts, the Psychological Services Unit offers mentoring, counselling, and other targeted support for students, staff, and faculty, including those from underrepresented groups. Through mental-health programmes, mentorship sessions, and peer-support networks, the university nurtures a culture of belonging, resilience, and inclusion.

With its integrated approach, combining accessible facilities, disability support, and a well-structured accommodation strategy, Redeemer’s University continues to set a benchmark for inclusive education in Nigeria’s higher-education landscape, ensuring that no learner is left behind.
