The article investigates the relationship between trade openness, human capital, and poverty alleviation in West Africa. The study emphasizes that investment in education and skills is crucial for reaping the benefits of trade liberalization and promoting sustainable economic growth. This aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8), which aims to promote sustained, inclusive economic growth and decent work for all.
